What counts as a monthly “support request”?
A support request is any website task that can be done in less than 30 minutes.
Examples include:
- Adding Google Analytics script to your site
- Configuring your Google Analytics filters or settings
- Setting up Google Search Console
- Troubleshooting basic GSC errors
- HTTPS troubleshooting
- Small code/CSS tweaks
- Small tweaks to your recipe card design
- Small tweaks to your theme settings
- Adjusting Yoast settings
- Installing/configuring a new plugin
- Adding a widget to your sidebar
- Adding something to your main menu
- Swapping out a photo
- Creating a reusable block (like an affiliate disclosure)
- One-off website backup requests
- Export a list of all pages/posts on your site
- Plugin questions (for example, “Should I add or remove X plugin?”)
- “How did they do that?” questions about other websites
The following are larger tasks that DO NOT qualify as monthly support requests:
- Changing your theme
- Changing hosts
- Rebranding
- Custom site speed work
- Setting up a subdomain
- Site-wide permalink changes
- Website audits
- Reorganizing website categories
- Setting up a course or e-commerce platform
- Google Business Profile assistance
- Feedback on blog posts or website copy
- Assistance with website legal terms or policies
- Business strategy questions
- Email marketing help
- Social media help
If you are not sure whether a task will qualify, email us at support@theunconventionalrd.com.
If you need assistance with a larger project, please contact us at support@theunconventionalrd.com for a personalized quote or trusted referral.
How do I submit a support request?
If you are enrolled a plan that includes monthly support requests, log into your account, go to the “Login” tab in the main menu, and click “Submit Support Ticket”.
Do unused monthly requests “roll over” to the next month?
No. Unused requests expire at the end of the month and do not roll over to the next month.
Please note that you must initiate the support requests.
We do not proactively perform support request tasks on your websites.
How does this differ from the support offered by managed WordPress hosting?
Your host may provide some of these services (like backups or automatic plugin updates), but quite often they are not set up in the most ideal way.
Having additional backups stored separately from your host is always a good idea. Plus, we have our ear to the ground in our industry and are much more likely to catch potential plugin bugs or conflicts before they impact your site.
We will also give you free access to many paid plugins, depending on which plan you are on, worth over $850 per year.
Rather than having to worry about the details, let us take care of it for you and trust that we will treat your site like our own.
Do I have to pay for all 6 months upfront?
No, you are subscribing to a monthly payment plan that must be maintained for at least 6 months.
If you choose to cancel before the 6 months are up, we can discontinue services, but you are still obligated to pay for the full 6 months.
This policy is in place because we spend a lot of time initially setting up support for your website, so it is unsustainable for us to offer one-off monthly services.
What is included in image optimization?
We install an image optimization plugin on your site (at no extra charge) and optimize all of your images so that they are not slowing down your website’s performance.
What is included in the basic site speed optimization?
We install the plugin WP Rocket on your site (at no extra charge) and configure the settings to get your website to load as quickly as possible.
Note that this does not include any custom site speed work that might involve coding, theme changes, hosting changes, display ad changes, etc.
However, if we notice these issues, we will bring them to your attention and make suggestions for improvement.
What is included in the quarterly progress reports?
At the start of each quarter, you will receive an email progress report for your website, including:
- Trending monthly sessions
- Analysis of your best traffic sources
- Top performing keywords
- Top-performing posts
- Branded search analysis
- Backlink analysis
What is included in the quarterly optimization suggestions?
Based on your quarterly progress report, we will provide 3 personalized action items for you to focus on that quarter to help boost your website’s SEO and overall performance.
We will not perform these tasks for you, but they will serve as guidance to make sure your content strategy is on the right track.
Does my website need to use WordPress to join?
Yes. We can only support people who have a self-hosted WordPress website.
