    And yes, most email opt in forms will slow down your site. It’s pretty much unavoidable unless you include a static CTA (like, a button to click this to sign up) and then it takes them to a separate page.

    But any dynamic content loading on the page (like a banner or pop up or slide in) will add load time to the page.

    But if you’re running a business… there’s almost nothing more valuable than an email subscriber, so you have to weigh the pros and cons for your individual situation.

    There are plenty of ways to offer people an opportunity to join your list in a way that is still a good user experience.

    (I actually don’t love the ConvertKit forms, but it’s fine for getting started and then you can upgrade to a more advanced tool when your business is making good money to reinvest and your needs/strategies get more complex.)
