(NOT legal advice!!) But from my understanding, yes, because *technically*, you can’t force someone to get the newsletter along with whatever they’re opting into.

If you change the language to say, “Join my newsletter and I’ll send you XYZ as a special bonus”, then I think that would be okay because the primary thing they’re consenting to is the newsletter. Then you’d have clear consent to email anyone who signed up, so you wouldn’t need to segment out the UK/CH/EU people.
