Thank you!! Yes, you can add the videos to your website in addition to posting them on YouTube.
This will give you double chances of getting the content ranked in Google video search and video carousels.
The one thing to note (this is a recent change) is that if you want the videos on your website to be eligible to rank in the video search results, the VIDEO must be the main content on the page (visible before scrolling down) and the intent of the page must be to watch the video.
It sounds like that’s exactly how you’d be doing it if you don’t already have written blog posts on your site.
Just know that in many cases, even if you embed the video on your site, the YouTube version may be the one that ranks.
So I’d just make sure you’re optimizing your YouTube experience so that people are taking whatever action you want them to after watching your content (probably opting into your list or visiting your site).
Of course, you can monetize with YouTube ads eventually as well, but the RPMs are often lower than with ad networks like Mediavine.
I hope that helps!
Oh, and I’d also add that if, in the future, you hope to join an ad network, you’ll want written content on your site as well (blog posts optimized for SEO) since the ad networks place the bulk of their ads between paragraphs in long-form blog posts!
